Although nitrous has been in the background over the last several years in NMRA Drag radial as the turbocharged and
supercharged machines have dominated, Scott Anderson and Steve Thompson are looking to change that. Yesterday, Thompson did so in a big way, running the quickest nitrous pass ever in the first round of eliminations. An 8.05 at over 171 MPH is only the beginning, as Thompson and crew chief Scott Anderson feel there is more left in their gorgeous nitrous-powered rocket.
If it were not for a loss in the semis by .004 to Lyon, Thompson may have gone on to his first NMRA win.
Looking at the numbers, this ride is destined to be in the Seven second bracket soon enough. Will they be the first with N2O?
A new Panhandle Performance bullet is currently being constructed and builder Mark Biddle claims it to be worth at least a hundred ponies more and weigh in a 75 pounds less.
Without having so much as a blown head gasket in two years, Anderson has a handle on the Wilson Pro-Flow nitrous tune and this team just might have the car to beat by the end of the year.
